Campaign Update

The momentum of the campaign is building and our team is busy setting up our grassroots organization. We need your help to continue to grow and strengthen the campaign’s efforts in all twenty-four counties. If you are interested in helping campaign in your community, please email Mabel Murphree at mabel@nunneleeforcongress.com or give her a call at 662-213-6859.

As you’re talking to your friends and family, tell them about your involvement in the campaign and discuss the ideals we share. Also, forward this email and ask them to sign up for email updates at www.nunneleeforcongress.com . You can also show your support by placing bumper stickers on your vehicles. Make sure to wear lapel stickers as you go to work, the mall, to the movies, or even when you pick up your kids from school. Find workplaces and other locations that you can place pushcards so people can pick them up and review my ideas for Mississippi. If you need bumper stickers, lapel stickers, or pushcards please email Cadley Burns at cadley@nunneleeforcongress.com .  Help us make sure we spread our message of fiscal responsibility and true conservative values throughout the district. The campaign is going great but we need your help to spread our message by telling all your friends and family about the campaign.

Parkgate Pregnancy Center

I want to take this opportunity to congratulate the folks at Parkgate Pregnancy Center for a successful event with Pam Tebow, the mother of the University of Florida quarterback Tim Tebow. Like myself, Mrs. Tebow is a strong pro-life advocate and she is doing a great deal to promote life in our culture and nation. I’m so proud that Parkgate was able to host Mrs. Tebow and help Parkgate’s cause. Parkgate Pregnancy Center is a needed ministry in our community and it’s encouraging to see it grow and continue to thrive in this area.

Legislative Update

Along with Governor Barbour and Lieutenant-Governor Bryant, I am continuing to hold the line on increased spending and keeping our reserves for future use. Over the next few months you will hear political rhetoric, exaggerations and sometimes complete lies.  I hope to keep you informed about the facts so you can answer questions when asked.

Since being elected to the Mississippi Senate I am proud to have voted over 250 times to lower taxes for the citizens of Mississippi.  I unequivocally believe that we as citizens pay too much in taxes and that the best way to expand our economy is let individuals and businesses keep more of their hard-earned money.

Over the past two years, Governor Barbour, Lieutenant-Governor Bryant, and I have worked together to make sure your taxes are kept low. These efforts to squeeze out more efficiency’s and to streamline our state government included raising the cigarette tax so we could offset increases in your car tags and to reinstate fees for hospitals that place the burden on users rather than the general public. Hospitals pay twenty-two cents to get one dollar in return.

I will continue to tackle the issues that are before us in Jackson and I will continue to keep you informed about my position on the issues facing our country and my plans for addressing these issues.
